A call Saturday morning for reported suspicious activity lead Brunswick police to a man who had a warrant for his arrest out of Florida.

Police responded to Garrison Street at 8:32 a.m. and ended up arresting Adalberto W. Rodriguez Jr., of Bradenton, Fla. with being a fugitive from justice, as well as theft by receiving stolen property.

Brunswick Police Cmdr. Tom Garrepy said Rodriguez had a warrant out of Manatee County Sheriff ’s Office in Florida charging him with car jacking.

The 2014 Nissan Sentra Rodriguez was driving allegedly belongs to his grandmother and had also been reported stolen from Manatee County.

Rodriguez was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Jail in Portland and bail was set at $100,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear March 21 in superior court date, Garrepy said, and Manatee County Sheriff ’s Office plans to request extradition.
