PITTSBURGH — Carter Hutton stopped 34 shots for his sixth career shutout to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 3-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.

Colton Parayko, Ryan Reaves and Scottie Upshall scored to help the Blues end a three-game skid. Hutton won for the third time in his last four starts and fifth in the last seven to improve to 7-6-2 this season.

Matt Murray finished with 24 saves for the Penguins, who snapped a four-game winning streak. Murray, 17-5-1 was 9-0-1 in his first 10 starts at home this season.

St. Louis had allowed at least five goals in each of its previous three games.

Pittsburgh, averaging a league-best 3.63 goals per game, had scored at least four goals in each of their four straight wins and at least five in three of those four.

The Penguins, 0 for 5 on the power play, lost in regulation at home for the first time since Nov. 21, when they fell 5-2 to the New York Rangers.

Parayko gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal with 5:44 left in the first period. David Perron slipped a pass to Parayko, who slid into the slot and fired a slap shot past Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta and through Murray’s five-hole.

St. Louis almost took the lead a bit earlier when Patrik Berglund fluttered a shot on net before Parayko grabbed the rebound.

SENATORS 3, CAPITALS 0: Mike Condon stopped 31 shots to pick up his fourth shutout of the season as Ottawa won at home.

Chris Kelly, Bobby Ryan and Zack Smith scored for the Senators, who improved to 6-1-1 in their last eight.

SABRES 5, PREDATORS 4: Jack Eichel scored two goals, including the winner at 2:35 of overtime to give visiting Buffalo a comeback victory.

ISLANDERS 4, BLUE JACKETS 2: Nikolay Kulemin scored a goal and helped create another, and the Islanders chased All-Star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky in beating visiting Columbus.

The Islanders are 3-0-1 under interim coach Doug Weight a week after Jack Capuano was fired.

KINGS 3, DEVILS 1: Anze Kopitar and Tanner Pearson scored in the opening 1:46 and visiting Los Angeles snapped a four-game losing streak.

Kings defenseman Alec Martinez capped their three-goal first period.

CANADIENS 5, FLAMES 1: Alexander Radulov scored twice and Montreal won at home to extend Calgary’s losing streak to four.

Andrew Shaw, Tomas Plekanec and Daniel Carr also scored for Montreal (29-13-7). Carey Price made 30 saves in the win and had an assist.

NOTES

TRADE: The San Jose Sharks traded forward Tommy Wingels to the Ottawa Senators for two minor league forwards and a 2017 seventh-round draft pick.

COYOTES: The NHL fined forward Peter Holland $3,611 for punching Tampa Bay’s Ondrej Palat in Saturday night’s game in Glendale. The fine is the maximum allowed for punching an unsuspecting opponent.
