SACO — Rudolph “Rudy” J. Anderson Jr. passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at home in the loving care of his family.

Rudy was born in Portland, Maine, on May 6, 1945, a son of Rudolph J. and Ruth E. (Jordan) Anderson. He graduated from Scarborough High School in 1963, Dean Junior College in 1966, served active duty in the U.S. Navy and later earned a B.S. in Business Administration from USM.

For many years, he was a self-employed contractor. In later years, became a correctional trade instructor for the State of Maine.

He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Patricia Ruth Anderson; parents; and brother, Joseph.

He is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Kathleen (McGovern) Anderson; his son, Thomas R. Anderson; and his daughter, Mary V. Pinette and her husband, Paul. He is also survived by: his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Anderson, Emma Pinette, and Michael Pinette; as well as his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Veronica and Richard Sheehan; sister-in-law Ruth Chadbourne; and several nieces and nephews.

Rudy and his family would like to thank Southern Maine Hospice and all the wonderful staff that provided excellent care and support.

Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
