TOPSHAM — Doris E. Roye, 77, of Collins Circle passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her residence with family by her side.

She was born in East Boston, MA on November 11, 1939, a daughter of Sabino and Josephine (Saggese) Albanese. She graduated from Fitton Central High School in 1957 after which she entered the United States Navy. On May 21, 1960 she married the love of her life, Weldon D. Roye. She traveled throughout the world with her husband while he was in the Navy and in 1977 they settled in Brunswick. Doris was employed at Bath Iron Works and was proud to be the first lead woman in the electric shop, retiring in 1995. After retiring they moved to Cape Coral, Florida where she was an avid bowler and a member of the Elks Club. In 2015 they returned to Topsham.

Doris was a huge fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots. She loved playing bingo and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Weldon D. Roye of Topsham, one son, Mark A. Roye and his longtime companion Susan Gauthier of Richmond, one daughter, Dorinda Roye of West Bath, one brother, Francis “Frankie” Albanese of Beverly, MA, 4 grandchildren; Amber Herzog and her husband Derek of West Bath, Kayla White of North Carolina, Melissa Roye of Waterville and Jade Earl of Brunswick, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son, Lorin Roye on October 30, 1984, two sisters, Mary Pierce and Lillian Ruggiero.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Brunswick at a later date.
