CAMDEN (AP) _ The Camden Windjammer Festival is continuing its salute to the golden age of sail this weekend.

Thousands are attending the Labor Day weekend event that kicks off in earnest Saturday with a build-a-boat competition, lobster crate race, fish head relay, and pirate encampment.

The event wraps up Sunday with a build-a-boat parade, nautical dog contest, and pirate skirmish.

Organizers say the event celebrates Camden’s maritime heritage including clipper ships and coastal schooners built in the harbor.
