FREEPORT

A meeting will be held this month to define the goals and objectives for the Freeport Cultural Plan at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Freeport Middle School.

Reinholt Consulting will present the results survey results from the public opinion, artists polled over a three-month period earlier this year.

Reinholt seeks input from local citizens, businesses and organizations to clarify the goals and objectives of the plan so they accurately reflect the values and priorities of the Freeport community.

The meeting will be hosted by Freeport Arts and Cultural Alliance, which partnered with the town of Freeport to fund Reinholt services.

Cultural plans provide a framework to guide municipalities in future development.

The town has designated an Arts and Cultural District which qualifies for the funding of arts and cultural projects under the terms of its Destination Freeport Tax Incentive Financing program.

The cultural plan will serve as a resource for all seeking to advance the creative economy and the development of arts and culture in Freeport.

Once goals and objectives are defined, follow up public meetings will be held to develop strategies and recommendations to achieve the identified goals.

Freeport Arts & Cultural Alliance was formed in 2015 to support & promote arts and culture in Freeport. For more about FACA visit FreeportArtsAndCulturalAlliance.org.
