KENNEBUNKPORT — Tim Harrington, a Kennebunkport Resort Collection founding partner, has  announced that David’s KPT closed Monday to make way for a new concept to be revealed in early 2018.

Chef David Turin joined Harrington in making the announcement citing a mutual agreement to part ways.

“We were so honored to have a chef and restaurateur of the stature of David Turin on board when the hotel and restaurant opened in 2013,” Harrington said. “He was essential to this project, and we will be forever grateful for his contributions.”

Turin, a celebrated Portland chef and restaurateur who has helmed David’s KPT since it’s opening in March 2013 agreed.

“Working in Kennebunkport has been such a rewarding experience, and I have felt embraced by the community from the day we opened,” Turin said. “Everything has a cycle and as the cycle for this restaurant comes to a close, I’d like to thank Tim and his partners at KRC for this opportunity and wish them well in the new endeavor.”

He indicated that his focus will remain on his restaurants in Portland, including David’s Restaurant, David’s 388 and David’s Opus 10.

According to Harrington, a spring 2018 opening is planned for the new restaurant concept.

The restaurant is situated at 21 Ocean Ave. in The Boathouse Hotel in Kennebunkport.
