Brunswick- and Freeport-themed Monopoly -style games are being sold by the Brunswick Downtown Association and Greater Freeport Chamber of Commerce, respectively.

The games are played similarly to the original Monopoly board game with money, tokens and instruction cards.

Brunswick-Opoly features Brunswick businesses and organizations and are $35 each. Proceeds support BDA events and programs. Brunswick-Opoly games are available for purchase at Cool As A Moose, Timeless Cottage and at the Brunswick Visitor Center. Orders can be placed online through brunswickdowntown.org/brunswick-opoly. Shipping is $15 per game.

The Greater Freeport Chamber of Commerce has announced it’s own version. Freeport-Opoly features Freeport businesses and community organizations and is available for sale at Bow Street Market, Big Indian Country Store, Gritty’s, Maine Wicked Goods and Freeport Hardware.

The box cover features photographs by local photographers Dale Bouton and Ben Williamson. The face featured on each piece of the money is George Denney, a founding father of modern Freeport.
