Pictured on the Saco Valley Land Trust’s Cranberry Marsh North Easement is a tupelo, or black gum, tree. It is growing in the northernmost area of its range in southern Maine. This tree was recognized last year as the largest tupelo in the county by the York County Soil & Water District.
