BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Boston Bruins have acquired high-scoring left wing Rick Nash as part of a multiplayer deal with the New York Rangers.

The Rangers acquired the Bruins’ first-round pick in this year’s draft as well as forwards Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey and a seventh-round pick in the 2019 draft in the deal, which was announced Sunday morning, just one day before the NHL’s trading deadline.

Nash has tallied 30 goals in eight of his 15 NHL seasons and is expected to be in uniform for the Bruins against Buffalo on Sunday.

The 33-year-old Nash now joins a Bruins team that is thrid overall in the Eastern Conference standings with 82 points.

Nash is in the last year of his contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

He began his career is the first player chosen in the 2002 NHL draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets and has 434 goals and 365 assists in 1,049 NHL games. He’s also earned three gold medals playing for Tesam Canada in the 2007, 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

The Bruins are coming off a 4-3 loss at Toronto on Saturday night.
