A Positive Approach to Climate Change
It seems not a day goes by that we don t read a news story or opinion piece about global climate change. We wring our hands and worry about our children s future.
So, we take steps to reduce our own use of fossils fuels. But just as important, we need to communicate our concerns to our state and local leaders. We need to foster the political will towards a solution.
To see how a positive, action-oriented approach to the climate crisis can work, come view an inspiring, 25-minute film segment from the National Geographic series, “Years of Living Dangerously” on Monday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick. The local chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby is hosting the program. All are welcome, the event is free, and refreshments will be served. Please mark your calendars.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
