In a recent letter to the editor (March 21), Angela King-Horne exhorts the uninformed to “read some history books” if they don’t believe that protest ever changes anything.

She correctly states that, were it not for the rebels, we would still be British subjects. What she failed to mention was the fact that the American Colonists, rebelling against the Crown, were all carrying muskets. Had they not been, our national anthem would indeed be “God Save the Queen.”
