This letter is in response to Rep. Karen Vachon’s July 21 letter to the editor, in which she says, “Maine doesn’t have a problem with access to health care.”
In the next sentence, Vachon tells us she has “worked tirelessly to bring people together to optimize available resources in the best, most affordable and sustainable way possible.”
She should have started her letter with this and told us specifically with whom she has worked and what they have accomplished to help resolve the problem that she claims we do not have – access to health care.
Vachon voted to sustain a veto by Gov. LePage of a recent Medicaid expansion funding bill. LePage does not want Medicaid expansion, and Vachon doesn’t, either, no matter what the voters want.
