Judy (Matthews) Turner, formerly of Harpswell, died in Vermont on July 6, 2018, after a battle with cancer. Judy was born in 1942, the second child and only daughter of Louis and Pauline (Moody) Matthews.

The family made their home in Harpswell, and Judy graduated from Brunswick High School in 1960.

She trained as a nurse at the University of Maine, and during her time there, she met a Vermonter named Terry Turner. Judy and Terry married just before their college graduation in 1964 and immediately moved to the Burlington, VT area so he could begin a job at the University of Vermont. Though Judy made her home in Vermont for over 50 years, she was always proud of her Maine roots.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, Terry Turner, in 2006, and her survivors include: partner Tom Fetters, sons Michael (Amy) Turner of Bolton, VT and Kevin (Deanna) Turner of Ridgefield, WA, four granddaughters, older brother Clint (Venice) Matthews and his family of Topsham, younger brother Larry (Joan) Matthews and his family of Arundel.
