Images of Maine’s iconic rugged coastline will be the star of Kefauver Studio & Gallery’s latest exhibition.

Opening today, and running through Sept. 9, the “Rock ‘n’ Wave” art show is the gallery’s third of the season. An opening reception will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday; many of the guest artists will be present to meet visitors and discuss their work.

The show features new work by oil painter Will Kefauver and his 35 guest artists, including 11 who are getting the first taste of having their work exhibited at the gallery.

“It’s always a pleasure to see the entries come in for the ‘Rock ‘n’ Wave show,’ but this year we’ve had an outstanding turnout — many new artists and old friends — making this the biggest show we’ve done to date,” said Kefauver in a press release. “We’ll have over 55 new works celebrating our wonderful shoreline.

“Crashing surf, quiet inlets, majestic cliffs running into the sea, or the peaceful lapping of waves against the pilings of a dock — so much of what we love about Maine happens where water meets land,” he added. “So many of our talented artists and photographers took on the opportunity to share this beauty through their work.”

Refreshments will be served at the reception, and there is free parking.
