Avita resident Ed McKeon (right) joins Maddey Gates and Region 10 students Tegan Byrne (left) and Lily Schenk in a rendition of Jingle Bells. Region 10 Technical High School’s nursing students sang Christmas carols and handed out dozens of handmade cards at Avita assisted living facility on Wednesday. This week, the students are delivering over 500 cards and singing at eight community homes. Nursing students have been doing this annual day of giving for five years now, and Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor Joanna McMahon said it is wonderful to see the students giving back to the community.
