Lacelyn Lang

ALFRED — A Waterboro woman was arrested for operating under the influence while at the York County Jail property to bail out her boyfriend about 10 p.m. Friday.

York County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Collins saw a car drive into a non-public area of the jail complex at around 10 p.m. on Friday, according to a press release from York County Sheriff William King.

Collins approached the car, and the woman driving the car, Lacelyn Lang, 38, of Waterboro, said she was at the jail to bail out her boyfriend, who arrested earlier that evening.

During the conversation, it became clear to Collins that Lang was intoxicated.

Further investigation showed that Lang’s license had been suspended for a previous charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence, according to King.

The deputy transported Lang about 100 feet to the jail and charged her with operating under the influence of intoxicating liquor and operating after a suspended license.

Lang posted bail of $760 and is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
