1947 – 2019

BRUNSWICK – Lauris O’Neil passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was born in Brunswick on Jan. 22, 1947, the son of Orson O’Neil and Alma Ella Skelton. Lauris  was the class of ’65 at Brunswick High, followed by serving six years in the Navy. He was a self-employed mason contractor for over 40 years, known especially for his stone work. Lauris and Gail, his wife of 54 years, enjoyed travel, with cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal and the Caribbean. His many hobbies/interests include archery, skiing, building kayaks, kayaking and playing cards with friends and family. Lauris was predeceased by his parents and brother, Oliver O. O’Neil. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Karen O’Neil of Van Buren, Kelly Weber and Carl of Biddeford, Kimberly Allen and her husband, Patrick, of Brunswick; six grandchildren: Meghan, Corey (Bud), Lisa, Jacob, Zachary, Noah; and three great-grandchildren: Paige, Xavier (Spud) and Zander (Tater); and two sisters: Gwendolyn Clark of Kansas and Selma Powers and her husband, Charles, of Brunswick. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 19, from 1-2 p.m. at Crosman Funeral Home in Lisbon Falls followed by light refreshments at the home of Kim and Patrick Allen, 54 Lunt Road, Brunswick.
