RICHMOND — Laura Brown tallied a hat trick to pace the Richmond High School girls soccer team to a 10-0 East-West Conference win over Valley on Thursday. 

The Bobcats are 3-1 and host Vinalhaven/North Haven on Saturday at 11 a.m. Valley fell to 0-3. 

Richmond darted out to a 7-0 halftime lead. Abby Johnson picked up two goals and an assist, while Lorelei Zoulamis had a pair of goals. Abby Harrington, MaryBeth Sloat and Bree Shea chipped in a goal each, with Shea adding two assists along with Erica Dickey. Paige Lebel also picked up an assist. 

Maranacook 2, Morse 1 (OT)

Emily Harper’s goal with 1:41 remaining in the second overtime lifted the visiting Black Bears to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over the Shipbuilders at Bath. 

Morse (1-3-1) tied the game with 3:43 remaining in regulation on an Emily Martin free kick.

Abby Sreden and Kaylee Creamer were standouts for Morse, which hosts Mt. Ararat on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. 

Winthrop 5, Wiscasset 0

Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone found the back of the net four times to power the host Ramblers to a Mountain Valley Conference victory over the Wolverines, who fell to 0-6 and hosts Boothbay on Monday at 6 p.m. 

Lily Souza turned away 13 shots in the Wiscasset cage, while Winthrop’s Brooke Burnham made eight stops. 

Averie Silva chipped in a goal. 

Camden Hills 3, Brunswick 0

Defending State Class A champion Camden Hills (5-0) received two goals from Kris Kelly for the KVAC win over the Dragons, who fell to 3-2 and host Lewiston on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Ali Tassoni chipped in a goal for the Windjammers. 

Brunswick keeper Aisley Snell turned away 12 shots. 

Girls volleyball

BRUNSWICK — Erin Chadbourne recorded four aces and nine assists as Portland earned its first win in a 3-2 decision over Brunswick/Mt. Ararat. 

The Bulldogs won the match with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 15-12 to improve to 1-3.

Naomi Martin led the Dragons (1-4) with five aces, four kills and 25 assists, while Sabrina Cooper added six kills and two aces. Kathleen Trapp picked up nine kills, five digs and four aces, with Kassidy Dixon adding 12 digs and three aces. Lauren Whitlock chipped in 12 digs and five aces.

Brunswick heads to Kennebunk on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Field hockey

FREEPORT — Three Freeport players scored a goal as the host Falcons picked up a key 3-1 Western Maine Conference win over Fryeburg Academy. 

Kyla Harvey staked the Falcons (3-2-1) to a 1-0 halftime lead, scoring on a breakaway. 

In the second half, Freeport’s Ally Randall scored off an assist from Havey, and Aynslie Decker made it a 3-0 contest off a penalty corner from Hannah Groves.

Alegra Bartlett broke up the shutout, tallying the lone Raiders goal with 51 seconds remaining. 

Piper Sherbert had 10 saves for the Freeport win, while Fryeburg’s Bailey Richardson turned away a dozen shots. 

Freeport returns to action at Yarmouth on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Bangor 2, Brunswick 1

Kaylee Perkins broke a 1-1 tie with 8:35 remaining in the first half to lift the host Rams to a KVAC win over the Dragons, who fell to 1-4 and host Messalonskee on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Bangor (3-2) claimed a 1-0 lead on a Gigi Sychterz goal.

Brunswick answered less than three minutes later when Abbie Belanger slipped a shot past Rams keeper Mackenzie Morin (five saves) off an assist from Emma Lind.

Dragon goaltender Liberty Krauss had eight saves.

Mt. Ararat 3, Lewiston 2

The Eagles earned their fifth straight win (5-1) in a KVAC victory over the Blue Devils at Lewiston. 

Wyley Fitzpatrick tallied the first and last goal for Mt. Ararat. Holly Temple added a goal. Fitzpatrick and Bree Holtet chipped in an assist each. Netminders Lily Schenk and Emma Lapreziosa had four saves each. 

Lewiston (1-4) received a first-half goal from Cecilia Miller and a second-half tally from Abigail Chartier. Goaltender Cecilia Landry had 19 saves in the loss.

Mt. Ararat visits undefeated Skowhegan on Saturday at 11 a.m. 

Boys soccer

CAMDEN HILLS — Brunswick took care of business, picking up a 3-1 KVAC victory over Camden Hills, setting up Saturday’s showdown at undefeated and defending State Class A champion Lewiston (2:30 p.m.). 

Sebastian Miguel set up Josh Musica for a 1-0 Dragons lead. 

Camden Hills (3-2) tied the game when Quinn Brown picked up a loose ball and slipped it past Brunswick goaltender Jack McDiarmid (12 saves). 

Musica’s second goal proved to the game-winner, with Lane Foushee picking up an assist.

With seven minutes left in regulation, Alfonso Miguel rifled a shot from 20-yards out for a Brunswick insurance goal. 

Casey Messer had eight saves in the Windjammer net.

Mt. Ararat 4, Mt. Blue 0

At Farmington, the visiting Eagles broke out of an early season scoring slump for a KVAC win over the Cougars.

Mt. Ararat is 2-2 and hosts Morse on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Eagles struck with 9:36 left in the first half on a Sean Rethi unassisted goal.

In the second half, Tristan Zell (assisted by Sebastian Varela) doubled the lead, and goals by Will Hagan (Spencer Leclair) and Elias Theberge completed the scoring.

James Singleton had four saves.
