I think it’s great that Maine Medical Center nurses want to unionize. Being able to stand up for what’s right is easier and more effective when one doesn’t have to stand alone.
Being a proud union member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 92, since 1978, I can attest to the importance of union representation when things are wrong.
Union representation will not only be good for the patients, but good for the members, too. It’s a better workday when you know you can do your job with the dignity and respect you deserve. If you feel good doing your job, you usually do better at it.
