If you needed a reason either to move to Maine or to be happy you already live here, you need go no further than reading Staff Writer Kelley Bouchard’s front-page article “The race is on” in the Jan. 31 Maine Sunday Telegram.

Bouchard describes in some detail the way the rundown Scarborough Downs racetrack was converted into a large-scale vaccination site through the coordination of the track owners, personnel from Maine Medical Center and 40-plus different contractors who worked together at amazing speed to pull it all together. And got it done!

My partner and I are both over 70 and have other health issues, but we’ll get vaccinated at the old track later this week.
