Becky Ann Kierman

CAPE ELIZABETH – Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Becky Ann Kierman passed July 3, 2022 at peace and surrounded by her daughters Mellissa Pulsifer and Amanda Wood. She was 60 years old. Becky was born in Los Angeles, Calif. July 10, 1961 to parents Patricia Parkinson and George Welker.

Becky was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Larry Welker and her sister, Carolyn Welker.

Becky is survived by her daughters Mellissa Pulsifer and Amanda Wood; her granddaughter, Wiley Pulsifer; and her sons-in-law, Svenson Pulsifer and Tyler Wood.

June 14, 2022 Becky was diagnosed with advanced non-smoking lung cancer after a brief hospitalization. In Becky’s case, as is common in these sorts of cancers, the illness was discovered too late for treatment. She spent her final days in the Gosnell House Hospice where she was compassionately cared for by staff and attended by her family and friends. On July 2, the day before her passing, Becky was able to attend the marriage ceremony of Amanda and Tyler Wood. This was an end-of-life wish that was lovingly carried out by friends, family and facility staff.

Becky’s daughters Mellissa and Amanda were everything to her. Through fair and stormy seas this trio always had one another. No moment was too embarrassing, no story too complex, no success too small or great, no moment too difficult to be shared with one another. Becky listened carefully, loved enormously, and gave generously of her time and energy. A family history over three decades can not be encapsulated in a few sentences. But her presence in their lives will be forever felt, and her absence now will reverberate deep into their future. We mourn the years and experiences we will not be able to share.

Becky was a beloved in many lives. She was “Mimi” to her granddaughter, a friend and companion, and a weekly supporter in ‘Mimi Mondays’. To her sons-in-law she was supportive and engaged, always trying to learn about whatever they were interested in. To her friends she was a source of heartfelt advice, loving dog care, and community partnership.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and a committed member of her church community in Cape Elizabeth. Becky was a professional hair and eyelash stylist widely loved by her client base. She was at her happiest when she was helping them prepare for special milestones like weddings and proms. Becky was a painter of nature who shared her work with those around her.

We imagine our dear Becky at peace, making her way along a beach with her dogs at her side, the sea stretched out to the horizon, the breeze in her hair.

Services will be held Saturday July 16 at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 29 Ocean House Rd. in Cape Elizabeth. Refreshments will follow, and all are welcome.
