Falmouth Fire-EMS members are faced with washing police cruisers after the Falmouth Police Department handily won a softball game, 23-4, against their fellow first responders to mark National Night Out Aug. 5.

In a Softball Showdown of police versus fire, Falmouth Public Safety met on Legion Field and raised $1,000 for Special Olympics Maine, thanks to generous donations and a 50/50 raffle.

A good crowd turned out to watch the game and enjoy food cooked by Sgt. Kevin Conger of Falmouth PD and his team, according to a news release.

Despite the loss, “we had a great night,” said Fire Chief Howard Rice. “It’s rare we can all get together like this and just have some fun.”
