The people of Cumberland and Gray have been well-represented by Steve Moriarty in Maine House District 45. While in office he supported legislation that helped reduce our property taxes by finally approving funding of the state’s share of public education costs at 55%. He further supported increasing state revenue-sharing to municipalities at 5%. These changes increased the contribution of state funding to costs that were previously paid by the taxpayers of his district. Steve has a long record of public service leadership in the town of Cumberland as a member of the Planning Board and the Town Council. He has carried this sense of local responsibility with him to Augusta and has earned our support to reelect him to another term.
