The Republican ad attacking Gov. Mills’ record on education is bullpucky. Ads against U.S. Rep. Jared Golden for supporting the Inflation Reduction Act are false and shameful.
Newspapers only print editorials with the facts. Political ads should be held to the same standard.
The Republican ad about the Inflation Reduction Act are not true. The act will update America’s failing infrastructure of roads, bridges, electric grid, high-speed internet and water systems; address climate change; lower prescription drug costs; cap insulin at $35 and reduce the deficit by $305 billion through 2031. It’s paid for by a 15 percent tax on billion-dollar companies. It raises taxes only on those earning over $400,000.
The Republicans’ claim that the Inflation Reduction Act will increase taxes on those earning less than $50,000 or $20,000 is not true. Republicans seem to have a problem with the truth. These ads against Rep. Golden and Gov. Mills are fallacious and should not be allowed.
