By now, you have probably read about the racist rant that “Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams posted to YouTube. His words and views are unacceptable, and we can no longer publish his work in good conscience.
We are in the process of lining up a replacement, but for now you will see a box blocking out “Dilbert” on our daily comics pages, which are assembled in advance. (Our Sunday comics section is printed so far in advance that we are unable to remove “Dilbert” from next Sunday’s edition.)
We know “Dilbert” is popular with our readers, but to continue to publish it would make us complicit in racism and help give Adams the means to have a platform to spread his hate.
