Ron Bourassa

BUXTON – Father, Friend, Stone Magician: As spring very reluctantly gives way to summer and the normal chores of painting the house, uncovering the boat and planting the garden come upon us, we notice the absence of Ron. His consistency to be there for us with any task that needed to be done; to witness some great idea like polar dipping, or a simple Sunday morning fishing trip, the void is evident.

Although he is not physically here, he has surrounded us with his love. This love is in the form of nothing less than magic that could turn a cold, hard stone into a warm, fluid piece of pure love. This is a talent that has blessed us with a lifetime of treasures; this talent he shared freely with anyone with the desire to learn. There is no doubt that Ron is still with us, observing us, with a small grin on his face, taking in the fact that this crazy family of his will love each other and take care of each other as he did.

His pride in his son and grandchildren was always clearly visible and unmistakable. They were his heart. He had peace in our family’s love.

We will miss you and think of you often.

We will have a celebration of life for this unique man at the Grove Site at Two Lights State Park on Saturday, July 15, from 2-5 p.m. Bring a chair, and in case of rain, meet us at Evelyn’s Tavern, 121 Sawyer St., South Portland.

In memory of Ron, put down your phone, put on some music and dance with someone you love.
