Falmouth residents on Tuesday chose three new school board members, including two write-in candidates.

Five candidates sought three seats on the school board: incumbents Jennifer Libby and Matthew Pines and newcomer Alicia Johnson were on the official ballot and Analiese Larson and Emily H. Martin ran as write-in candidates.

Larson, Martin and Johnson edged out their incumbent opponents, earning 1,265 votes, 1,216 votes and 788 votes respectively. Libby received 705 votes and Pines collected 597 votes.

Two candidates ran for the two available seats on the council and were unopposed: Council Chair Peter LaFond and newcomer Bryce Hach, a teacher at North Yarmouth Academy. LaFond earned 1,399 votes and Hach got 1,330.

Residents also voted on the annual school budget validation referendum, which passed soundly with 80% of the votes in favor.
