It’s time to save democracy by re-mapping the United States.
Some counties in Oregon are seeking to move to Idaho to form the new state of Greater Idaho. Maine and other states should do the same. The nine left-leaning counties along the coast of Maine, from York to Hancock, can be the new State of Matinicus, named after the outermost inhabited island in Maine. The remaining six right-leaning counties can remain the State of Maine. This way, the Democrats may feel less compelled to place themselves above democracy.
