Some time ago my family wanted to open a new restaurant in Longfellow Square, and applied for a City Façade Grant to spruce things up. To our surprise the city said the official business district ended at Congress Square and we were not eligible.

So we turned to our friend and neighbor Herb Adams in the Legislature. Herb got up a petition, did the research, ran the papers through the process, and we got the grant! We were the first in Longfellow Square. Now the square is full of arts shops, theatre and sidewalk eateries. We are in the boonies no more.

This is the sort of action I like to see. With Herb Adams on our side we don’t fight City Hall — we win going in.

I’m glad to see Herb is running for the Legislature again. He had our back, and he has my vote this June.
