My three granddaughters are now playing for Regional School Unit 5 teams on fields my three daughters used. There still isn’t a track. We need both.
The Tri-Town Track & Field project will cost taxpayers a million dollars, but that cost will be split among the three towns in the RSU to benefit all our students.
Because of the generosity of Nike and private sources who are donating millions, taxpayers will pay less than one-quarter the additional cost of the track and artificial field. There has never been a better time to borrow. Interest rates are at an all-time low.
Unless you feel that the RSU should never purchase a track or fields like all the towns around us have, this is the best time to proceed. It’s best for our kids and our pocketbooks. The time has come to get this done.
Please vote for the track and field project Tuesday.
