You don’t have to be Einstein to know that insanity, as Einstein said, is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It’s crystal clear. Eliot Cutler and Gov. Paul LePage were neck and neck in 2010 and Elizabeth Mitchell – who should have stepped aside – was a spoiler, making possible the election of LePage. Now Mike Michaud and LePage are neck and neck and this time Cutler is about to be the spoiler, again electing LePage. I voted for Cutler in 2010. That was his time. I thought he placed concern for Maine over personal ambition. But now, judging by his unwillingness to step aside this time for the good of Maine, he appears to care more about personal ambition than about Maine. If Cutler cares at all for Maine he should exit now without having to be told.
