PORTLAND — A housecleaner was indicted last week by a Cumberland County grand jury for allegedly stealing prescription drugs.
Kathy A. Vargas, 45, of Portland, was arrested in January and charged with a felony after she allegedly stole oxycodone and hydromorphone from an elderly client’s home in Falmouth.
Indictments are findings that enough evidence exists to prosecute, not findings of guilt.
Vargas is owner of a cleaning company that operates under her name, with dozens of clients throughout York and Cumberland counties, Falmouth police have said.
