Thank you for the terrific article on Bartlett Circle in your March 19 issue. We are very proud of Bartlett Circle’s 33-year history of providing a low-cost, comfortable residential community for Yarmouth elders. In fact, the Southern Maine Council on Aging says we’re unique in that we run entirely on rental income and accept no state or federal money (with the related entanglements and complexity).

Affordable housing for our town’s seniors will become ever more critical in the years ahead. It’s important to all of us that this elder neighborhood continue to flourish. We hope and trust that Yarmouth citizens will be willing to donate to our capital campaign as we prepare Bartlett Circle for the next 30 years.
