Fourth-graders at Rieche Elementary School got a big surprise last week when the two row boats they had been working on since September with the Compass Project were “launched” in the school swimming pool. After the kids received their certificates in the auditorium, they got to take rides in their new boats, learning how to enter and exit safely and to always wear life preservers.
