At a recent ceremony, Philip Guimond received a certificate of appreciation for volunteering his time to teach hunter safety courses.
The certificate was presented by Andrew Dolloff, the assistant superintendent of schools and the director of the adult learning center.
Guimond has taught hunting safety for more than six years. In his remarks, Dolloff noted that during these years Guimond volunteered his time and instructed more than 150 Scarborough residents in how to hunt in a safe and ethnical manner. During the current course that ended on Sept. 17, more than 27 adults and young adults attended the 12-hour course required to obtain a hunting license.
