Cathy Nichols is to be lauded for her opposition to the proposed 3.8 percent tax on family incomes over $128,400 for adult elder care. Nichols is the Republican candidate for state Senate District 25. She fearlessly stated that she was against this ill-conceived proposal from inception. Meanwhile her opponent has not taken a position.
This proposed tax increase is being opposed by all four gubernatorial candidates. It is also opposed by most elder-care companies. Nichols is willing to take positions and answer the hard questions about them.
Support Cathy Nichols to have a state senator who is clearly opposed to the many misguided tax proposals coming from out-of-state interests and often by our own legislators.
