FARMINGTON – William “Billy” Albert Wing born March 8, 1947 in Topsham, but lived most of his life in Bath, passed from this world peacefully and with dignity on Oct. 4, 2019. He was born to Samuel and Pearl Wing of Brunswick.

Billy worked for the City of Topsham for many years ranging from 1962-1995 as a mechanic and city employee. He also enjoyed his many hours of working in his machine shop.

Billy was loved by all and had a very kind heart. His motto was “If you can’t fix it, ‘Wing it’!” He was a Jack of all trades and a master of them all. He was beloved by many and endeared by his close family and friends. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Topsham.

“Billy” was preceded in death by his wife, June Dickinson Wing; father, Samuel Wilford Wing, mother, Pearl Charlotte Dembow Sedgley, stepfather, William Snow Sedgley; and sister, Mary Gertrude King.

Billy is survived by son, Steven Dickinson and his wife Hannah and daughter Margaret whom Billy adored; sister, Gloria Jean Wing Burchfield and husband Robert L. Burchfield of Van Alstyne, Texas and their children Sara Jean Burchfield Riddels and husband Randy of Texas, Deborah Lynn Burchfield of Farmington, and wife Kelly and Gail Marie Burchfield Kisner of Texas and husband Robert. He also had numerous great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend Mark Ponziani whom he shared many fond memories of from childhood.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Residential care staff at Edgewood Rehab and Living facility past and present. The family and Billy would also like to extend a loving thank you to the staff and administration at Sandy River Nursing and Rehab center as well as Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice. The staff were compassionate, passionate, and tenderly loving to Billy in his final days and touched him with kind, loving hands and hearts filled with love. Billy and the family consider you an extension of our family and Billy felt your love for what you do. The family is forever grateful for your kindness and passion allowing him to leave this planet with grace and dignity. He loved you all.

Billy will always be our “Uncle Billy” and “Billy Bonkers”.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath.  A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Rogers Cemetery in Topsham.
