OGUNQUIT­­– Ogunquit Preforming Arts are presenting the Stillson School of Irish Dance as part of a St. Patrick’s Day celebration.   

The stepdancers will be preforming at the Dunaway Center, on Saturday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at 23 School St. in Ogunquit.

The Stillson dancers are an award winning dance group. Admission is five dollars and payable at the door.

The performance with contain both the fluid soft shoe style and the rhythmic hard shoe style.

The Stillson School of Irish Dance has visited Ogunquit before and were very well received.

It is by popular demand that the stepdancers bring their performance back to town.

The stepdancers will perform jigs, and reels and will be dressed in hand-made costumes.

At the end of the show the dancers with invite child and others to go onstage to learn and try out steps.

After the entire performance there will be refreshments served at a reception that will conclude the event and evening.

The Stillson School is the only certified school of Irish dance in the state of Maine. Its dancers compete all over New England and place in the New England Regional Dancing Championship almost every year.

The Stillson School of Irish dance is running by the well-known dancer and teacher Carlene Moran Stillson ADCRG/TCRG.

Stillson is accredited by Ad Coimisium in Dublin, Ireland. She has been dancing for any years and has competed I the new England Regional, North American and World Championships.

The director will explain the history of the dance and they reason for the designs of the costumes as part of the event.
