BATH

Maine State Police have arrested the boyfriend of a woman shot to death in a Bath shopping center parking lot Nov. 16.

Dylan Grubbs, 23, of Thomaston was charged with manslaughter following his indictment by the Sagadahoc County Grand Jury Thursday.

Grubbs’ girlfriend, 22-year-old Chelsea Jones, was shot in the head while she sat in their car in the parking lot of Shaw’s Supermarket. The two had driven to the shopping center to meet a prospective buyer for her handgun.  Grubbs was showing the gun outside the car when it fired.

According to a press release issued by Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, Grubbs also was indicted on a charge of possessing a firearm by a prohibited person. He was arrested at his home on Booker Street in Thomaston mid-afternoon and taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. His first court appearance on the indictments will be determined on Friday.
