A 20-year-old Wiscasset man was arrested Sunday evening after police say he bit his girlfriend, pushed her against a wall and restrained her with duct tape.

Steven Peaslee was charged with domestic violence assault, criminal restraint, refusal to submit to arrest or detention and violation of probation, according to a news release from Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.

The victim, an 18-year-old Wiscasset woman, suffered minor injuries from the bites, Cline said.

Wiscasset police Officer Perry Hatch responded at 5:35 p.m. after the victim reported that she had been held against her will at the couple’s home.

She told Hatch that Peaslee pushed her up against a wall, restrained her with duct tape on her wrists and ankles and then bit her in several areas of her body.

Hatch and

Lincoln County Sheriff ’s Deputy Jared Mitkus attempted to speak to Peaslee at the door, but he initially wouldn’t open it and was uncooperative, Cline said.

Peaslee is on probation for a burglary conviction, according to the release. He remained at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset on a probation hold Monday.
