AUGUSTA — Maine’s secretary of state is holding a drawing to determine the order of bond questions that will appear on the state referendum ballot in June’s election.
Matthew Dunlap will hold the drawing today in his office in Augusta.
Maine law requires the process for ballot petitions.
For the June 8 election, the first question on the ballot will ask voters if they want to overturn a state law that lowers Maine’s income tax while expanding the sales tax to a number of services that are now not taxed.
Dunlap will draw the ballot items from a ceramic bowl to determine the order of four other questions asking Mainers if they support four separate bond packages totaling $108 million.
