WESTBROOK — Aidan Walcott scored 21 points and Jacob Humphrey added 19 as Bonny Eagle started its boys’ basketball season with a 64-32 victory Thursday night against Westbrook.

Caden Dow led Westbrook with 10 points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 70, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 23 Ryan Crockett scored 23 points, and the Seagulls built a 38-8 halftime lead on their way to a win over the Guardians in a season opener in Old Orchard Beach.

Landen Johnson sank four pointers and chipped in with 14 points.

Ethan Huss led Seacoast Christian with 16 points.

Matthew Waeldner scored 18 points, Peter Psyhogeos chipped in 15 and William Cox finished with 13 for the Clippers (2-0) against the visiting Lakers (1-2).

Yarmouth built a 25-13 lead in the first half.

Evan Willey paced Lake Region with 16 points.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

GORHAM 51, SCARBOROUGH 14: Anna Nelson and Adele Nadeau combined for 23 first-half points for the Rams (2-0) as they ran out to a 28-6 lead and easily handled the Red Storm (0-1) at Gorham.

Nadeau finished with 17 points and Nelson added 16. Each drained three 3-pointers.

Una Djuranovic led Scarborough with five points.

BONNY EAGLE 66, WESTBROOK 30: The Scots grabbed a 32-19 halftime advantage, paced by eight points from Emily Bartash, then pulled away with a 12-2 third quarter in a season opener at Standish.

Kaitlyn Regan scored with 13 points, Bartash finished with 12 and Allie Hagerty added nine.

Nathalie LaBrie recorded 13 points for Westbrook.

BOOTHBAY 36, RICHMOND 28: Glory Blethen matched Richmond’s total by scoring 28 points as the Seahawks defeated the Bobcats in Richmond.

Richmond was led by Macy Carver’s 14 points.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 63, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 19: Shani Plante made seven 3-pointers and finished with 34 points as the Seagulls rolled past the Guardians in a season opener in Old Orchard Beach.

Plante also had six assists and six steals. Elise MacNair added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Ellie Leach scored eight points for Seacoast Christian.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 5, GORHAM 0: Koto Yamada scored twice and Nicoletta Coupe contributed a goal and an assist for Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland (1-0) in a win over Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic/Westbrook (0-1) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Cape led 3-0 after one period, on goals by Becca Good, Kate Roy-Becker and Yamada. Annie Guimond made it 4-0 in the second period, and Yamada scored again in the third.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

BRUNSWICK 6, MT. ARARAT 1: Jacob Fullerton’s power-play goal on a deflection gave Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse (1-2) an early advantage, but the Dragons (1-0) closed the first period with three straight goals and pulled away for a victory at Troubh Ice Arena.

Grey Perham scored twice, and Zach Stern-Hayes, Kennedy Eddy, Joe Marro and Nick Marro each added a goal for Brunswick.
