Portland police said a hotel guest’s sport utility vehicle became wedged between two buildings on Forest Avenue after a valet for the The Westin Portland Harborview hotel lost control on a patch of ice as he tried to exit a parking garage on High Street.
Lt. Gary Hutcheson said Kyle Brown, 22, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, lost control of a 2001 Nissan SUV around 12:30 p.m. Monday, causing the vehicle to slide across the street and get wedged between two brick buildings.
Brown was taken to Maine Medical Center to be checked on. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, but a wrecker had to be called to remove the vehicle.
Hutcheson said Brown is employed as a valet by the hotel and was parking a guest’s vehicle when the accident occurred.
