SACO — Abby Miner homered in the first inning and added a double as Thornton Academy edged Biddeford 8-6 in softball on Wednesday.

Maddie Vachon and Madison Tracy each had RBI singles in the bottom of the third as Thornton Academy (7-3) built its lead, and Claudia Pelletier added a home run.

Chantelle Bouchard and Charlotte Donovan both were 3 for 4 to pace a 14-hit attack for Biddeford (9-2). Baylor Wilkinson chipped in with a solo homer.

WINDHAM 14, FALMOUTH 0: Jaydn Kimball homered during a seven-run second inning and added two doubles as Windham (9-2) stopped Falmouth (3-7) in five innings at Falmouth.

Brooke Gerry and Ella Wilcox combined on a one-hitter for the Eagles, who got a fourth-inning triple by Eve Chase.

NOBLE 5, WELLS 1: Allie Moore and Lexi Volinsky racked up two hits apiece as the Knights (6-5) got past the Warriors (1-8) at North Berwick.

Moore and Kiersten Davis each drove in a run to bolster Noble’s three-run sixth inning. Volinsky got the win, allowing two hits and striking out three.

Savannah Grover struck out eight for Wells.

GORHAM 14, CHEVERUS 2: Tatyana Biamby struck out 11 in a complete game as the Rams (5-5) topped the Stags (1-7) at Gorham.

Gorham’s Andria Cloutier was 3 for 4 with two RBI. Kaci Mollison had five RBI, while Amber Bretton drove in three. Morgan Roast went 2 for 3 with two RBI.

SACOPEE VALLEY 5, LAKE REGION 4: Lakyn Hink doubled home Lindsay Fox in the seventh inning as Sacopee Valley (7-3) rallied past Lake Region (5-6) at Hiram.

With the score 4-4, Fox hit a two-out single to right, moved to second on an overthrow and scored on Hink’s winner.

Lake Region took a 4-2 lead with a three-run sixth, including Sadie Tirrell’s leadoff homer, before the Hawks tied it in the bottom of the inning.

BASEBALL

KENNEBUNK 2, SANFORD 1: Quinn MacDonald, the winning pitcher, hit a two-run single in the seventh inning as the Rams (7-3) walked off with a victory against Sanford (3-5) at Kennebunk.

Landon Schwartzman and James DiGiovanni scored on the single by MacDonald, who pitched a five-hitter.

SACOPEE VALLEY 3, LAKE REGION 2: The Hawks (9-4) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie as they edged the Lakers (4-5) at Hiram.

Carson Black threw a three-hitter to pick up the win for Sacopee Valley, striking out 14. Austin Croteau had a single and double, scoring twice.

YORK 11, WELLS 3: Starter Austin Mather went four innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out two, and also hit a two-run single to spark a three-run bottom of the first as the Wildcats (8-4) downed the Warriors (5-7) at York.

Tyler Conant was 4 for 4, including a first-inning RBI single, to lead York. Luke Doughty had three hits, Zach Strand added a solo homer and single and Hayden Henricksen chipped in with a pair of hits.

Keith Ramsey had a two-run home run in the fourth inning for Wells.

POLAND 2, OAK HILL 1: Dylan Sellinger broke a 1-1 tie with a fifth-inning home run as the Knights (6-6) won at Poland.

Sellinger had two of the four hits allowed by Oak Hill pitcher Kyle Delano. Hunter Gibson pitched a complete game for Poland, scattering six hits and striking out seven.

Gavin Rawstron had two hits for the Raiders (6-2), including a double.

OCEANSIDE 7, MT. VIEW 0: Austin Chilles threw a five-hit shutout, striking out seven and walking a pair as the Mariners (5-7) blanked the Mustangs (5-6) at Thorndike.

Nathan Coombs had three hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in three runs.

Finnegan Lynch and Alex Bartlett each added three hits, and Alec Sirois chipped in with two hits.

LEWISTON 10, GARDINER 0: The Blue Devils (8-3) won their eighth consecutive game, shutting out the Tigers (4-6) in six innings at Lewiston.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

BERWICK ACADEMY 11, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Nick McSorley scored four goals as the Bulldogs (9-0) beat the Panthers (6-3) at Yarmouth.

Ryan Muse and Travis Jackson each scored twice for Berwick Academy. Shea Green had three assists, with Albert Alen and Padraic Condon getting two apiece.

Chris Hamblett and Braden Warde scored for NYA.

BRUNSWICK 13, LEWISTON 3: The Dragons (8-1) used a balanced attack and a five-goal third quarter to down the Blue Devils (5-4) at Lewiston.

Brunswick had eight goal-scorers, and three other players added assists. Sean Lyne led the Dragons’ attack with three goals and two assists.

Tyler Leger scored two goals for Lewiston and John Bigelow scored the other goal. Blue Devils goalie Donald Tripp made 17 saves.

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, KENNEBUNK 7: John Elliopulos had four goals to lead the Golden Trojans (6-4) over the Rams (5-4) at Kennebunk.

Ronan Flynn added three goals for Thornton, and Alex St. John and Ethan LeBlanc each chipped in with two goals.

Andrew Washburn led Kennebunk with three goals.

Jacek Kudas stopped 16 shots for the Rams. Seth Fournier made seven saves for the Trojans.

ST. DOMINIC 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Garrett Kendall, Lucas Pushard and Murphy Randall scored as the Saints (3-3) held off the Patriots (3-4) at Auburn.

Aaron Thibault made 14 saves for the Saints.

Owen McDuffie and Ben Pierce scored fourth-quarter goals for Gray-New Gloucester, and Sam Tibbetts stopped 13 shots.

BIDDEFORD 13, GORHAM 10: Valentina Laflamme scored five goals and Abby Allen added four to help the Tigers (5-4) hold off Gorham (2-6) at Biddeford.

Zowie Cheetham Wilmot and Cece Keller had two goals each for Biddeford, which got nine saves from Vanessa Hale.

Kate Dupuis scored three goals, and Allie Light and Kaitlyn Nichols added two each for the Rams. Brooke Guimond made six saves.

CAMDEN HILLS 9, CONY 8: Anya Babb-Brott and Caroline Contento each had three goals to lead the Windjammers (4-1) at Augusta.

Grace Cody, Isabella Ward and Anna Griebel added a goal apiece for Camden Hills. Maddie Boetsch stopped seven shots.

Sierra Clark led Cony (5-3) with three goals and Raegan Bechard, Maci Freeman, Emma Doiron, Andrea Richardson and Kiara Henry had one goal each.

FREEPORT 9, WAYNFLETE 6: Kate Tracy had four goals and an assist to lead the Falcons (6-1) over Waynflete (4-3) at Freeport.

Savannah Tracy added two goals, and Meredith Feller, Myah Jensen and Hannah Groves also scored for Freeport. Piper Williams had five saves.

Jess Connors, Claire DiNapoli and Kilee Sherry each scored two goals for the Flyers. Emily Girard stopped six shots.

ST. DOMINIC 21, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 4: Taryn Cloutier scored four goals and had two assists to lead the Saints (4-4) attack at Auburn.

Jess Zimmerman had three goals and an assist for St. Dom’s, and Emily Wallingford had two goals and four assists. Natalia Russell made seven saves.

Hope Duffy scored two goals for the Raiders.

KENNEBUNK 18, MASSABESIC 3: Lily Schwartzman scored five goals and Skylar Maloney added four as Kennebunk (9-0) remained undefeated, rolling past Massabesic (5-3) at Waterboro.

Emily Archibald chipped in with three goals for the Rams. Sophia Notine, Ruby Sliwkowski, Sydney Dumas, Kara Battaglise, Grace Archer and Mara Muse also scored.

Bri Stephenson scored twice and Shea Lane had the other goal for the Mustangs.

OXFORD HILLS 18, MORSE 4: Olivia Orlando and Celia Melanson scored four goals apiece as the Vikings (4-1) handled the Shipbuilders (2-5) in Bath.

Ashlee Farrar, Kelsey Bennett, McKinley Soehren and Mallory Kennison each added two goals for Oxford Hills.

Mary LaRochelle scored three goals for the Shipbuilders.
