In response to Greg Kesich’s June 3 column, “Graduations trigger thoughts of second chances, class injustice,” I am proud to state that Portland honors its adult high school graduates.
Every year Portland Adult Education conducts a dignified and celebratory ceremony at Merrill Auditorium for nearly 200 community members who have earned their high school credential during the previous year.
This event marks the honorees’ successful second (or third) attempt to earn a valued academic credential. The ceremony this year is on June 11 at 6 p.m. The public is invited.
