Copy Editor/Web Producer (Kennebec Journal)

The Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel are seeking a full-time copy editor and web producer on its universal desk for the two papers and Centralmaine.com.

This person will be responsible for editing stories on deadline; creating crisp and engaging page designs; writing accurate and compelling headlines; curating content for the website and promoting that content on social media channels; and setting and changing priorities when handling breaking news and making deadline.

The copy editor and web producer must also demonstrate good news judgment, strong copy editing skills, proficiency with Associated Press style and thorough knowledge of local, state and national news.

The ideal candidate will have experience with WordPress and InDesign. Applicants should expect to work nights, with some weekend and holiday shifts.
