Maine elvers catch

The elver harvest has fluctuated widely over the past 20 years, then spiked after 2010. That's when a tsunami in Japan wiped out the farms that buy the tiny eels, forcing the industry to rebuild and driving the price paid to Maine harvesters above $1,600 per pound.
