    It’s close quarters as the competitors in the 1,600 meters compete for a state championship Saturday in the Class B meet at Mt. Desert Island High in Bar Harbor. Luke Laverdiere of Yarmouth captured the event in 4 minutes, 21.94 seconds, more than five seconds ahead of Chandler Vincent of Freeport. Foxcroft Academy took the team title.
