In the kitchen at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Alissa Blue grabs a tray of barbecue chicken to put it in oven. The center cooked 1,400 pieces of chicken for a free community dinner for 600 people on Aug. 25.

People line up to serve themselves buffet-style during the dinner featuring barbecue chicken, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, cucumber and tomato salad and vanilla ice cream drizzled with maple syrup.

Roasted potatoes, donated by Green Thumb Farms and roasted by 302 Smokehouse and the Fryeburg Rotary, are scooped out of a bowl during the dinner.
